Weight Loss Tips

These are my weight loss tips which I feel are important in helping you to lose weight. Some of these tips I will be going into in much great detail in more detailed articles.

Join a Gym

There is a reason so many people go to the gym and that is they work. At the gym I personally recommend doing a much cardiovascular work outs at you can to burn off calories. Cycle machines, cross trainers and tread mills are all good for burning calories.

Take up a physical hobby

A physical hobby such as squash, tennis or swimming is a good way to burn off calories in a fun way. It so helps to keep your mind of the exercise you're doing and motivates you to become fitter. Even better if you do this hobby with a friend.

Drink plenty of water

Drinking lots of water helps to prevent water retention in the body which can make you look fat. Drink cold water cools down you insides which causes your bodies internal boiler to burn calories to restore normal temperature. The bodies hunger and thrust mechanism are cross wired and therefore you can feel hungry when really you are thirsty.

Eat slowly

Eat slowly to allow yourself to feel full so you don't keep on eating until you're bursting.

Drink Tea

Tea is a low calorie drink which has many health benefits. As a hot drink and couple of cups will help to stop you feeling hungry. People I know who have never been over weight all drink lots of tea.

Drink Green Tea

If you're already a tea drink then switch to green tea. Green tea has been proven to help the body metabolise fatty acids. I will be creating a full article on my research regarding green tea and weight loss.

L-Carnitine

L-carnitine can be purchased from health shops. Like green tea it also helps the body get rid of fatty acids.

Buy a set of body fat analyser scales

Body analyser scales tell your percentage body fat, water, muscle mass. This helps you see your progress in much more detail. I will be creating an article on this as I feel this is important.

Get plenty of sleep

When don't get enough sleep you tend to crave fatty foods to help make you feel more awake.

Take multi-vitamins

When dieting it is a good idea to take a multi-vitamin a day to supplement your diet.

Count calories

Everyone hates counting calories but it is a calculated way of dieting. It so helps you to measure your benefits with burnt calories at the gym.

Old trousers and belt holes

Keep and old pair of trousers which are very tight around your waste. When you have lost a little weight you can use these to see how much more comfortable they have become.

Don't lose weight too quickly

You should aim to lose 2-3 lbs in weight a week. Loosing more than this you are less likely to keep it off and risk damaging your heart.

Weigh yourself only once per week

Don't weigh yourself every day as your weigh can fluctuate daily while dieting. It's better to weigh yourself once a week at the same time of day. I like to weigh myself Saturday mornings before breakfast.

Eat Apples

Apples contain Pectin which is a hunger suppressant. It also helps improve digestive health. Note though that apple peal and trigger IBS. If you are prone to IBS like me then peal the apple first.

Eat only when you're hungry

If you don't feel hungry then don't eat even if it is a meal time.
